I want to give the independent artist a chance to express themselves either in an article, or an interview. Featuring a voice that can not be heard, usually in the mainstream media, is only one way I want to go against the machine.

All artists have an opinion and have the right to be heard, and I want to give them that outlet. Besides writing, I also have the skills to play percussion, guitar, and the ability to write music. So I understand what it takes to make something out of nothing.

Recently, I have come full circle and have began utilizing my writing skills for GiGHiVE. My journey as a Journalist started as a student at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater where I majored in Print Journalism. I wrote for The Royal Paper campus newspaper for 3 years. I became the Assistant Editor of the paper for the last year.

Trying to find my niche during that time, I began to write feature articles about the independent bands playing in the area. I also wrote CD reviews for indie bands who were up and coming.

My love for music began at a young age when I started playing the drums. Unexpectedly, I picked up a guitar and started playing songs that I was listening to at the time. The love for all music came about, because I was forced to listen to a variety of it growing up.
